The Town of Felix is famous for Moose hunting. People from all over the world come to our area to hunt moose because the prevailing winds bring moisture off Lake Superior and Lake Huron, which enables the soil to be rich and fertile and grow many species of softwood trees and bushes. The leaves and buds of these softwoods are a favorite food of the Moose. In harsher environments, Moose are forced to eat pine bark and needles, which makes their meat taste gamey. Our moose taste fantastic. It' the same idea as when Deer Hunters say corn-fed deer taste much better then deep woods deer.
We have unlimited calf tags for anywhere in Ontario. WMU 40 and WMU 39 are close to the lodge. We also offer accommodatins for people with their own tags.
The Moose hunt for rifle-hunters starts the first Saturday in October to November 15.
The Moose hunt for bow-hunters starts September 15 to the first Saturday in October.
Non-residents can purchase a calf tag for $300 (price can change as it's a government fee).
